Hi,
I just wanted to know if, after the nano and the DACS one should connect a power amp or an integrated amp ?
I cannot find the diag on the manual it stops at the DACs...
Thanks
David

Usually, power amps.

thanks
It means there is no preamp.... many audiophiles and pros have tried with variable outputs dacs or passive preamp have come back to regular preamp (active) ..... indeed biamping and active (digital) crossovers bring something but by loosing the preamp takes out other things, doesn't it ?

Hm, there's no particular reason why a DAC output stage would be any different to a preamp output stage. Inserting a passive preamp is a completely different question, and not relevant (that I can see) to your question?

Remember that you are talking here about a device that has four digital outputs. So potentially four DACs on the output, 8 analog signals. I suppose you could use an 8-channel preamp after it if you wanted.

I meant that the preamp is bringing something in terms of spacialisation, warmth, timber, and so on... in the chain source - nanodsp-Dacs-power amp, there is no more preamps.... and so non of the positive things a preamp is bringing... hope I am clearer...

A preamp is nothing more than an electronic circuit...

Keep it simple, keep it clean. It will work the best. :-)

ok thanks...
I bought the nano 2x8, and plugged in directly the same room corrections made for the 2x4HD.... It works fine....
I still have to make my remote learn cause I cannot manage volume....so i still have the preamp after the DAC ....(not bad....)
One thing though is that the input monitors are saturating (so as the out put) when placed at 0dB....so I had to put them down of 10dB but clearly 20 dB seems better (more movement) .... Is it because of the master volume being at 0 ?

Hello

OK, sounds like a potential gain structure issue then. Check your input RMS meters. You need to leave some headroom, especially if you're then doing some EQ'in inside your DSP configuration. -10dB on the input RMS is about right.
