Hi, I've been working on this loudspeaker project for quite sometimes but only recently documented the build.

gainphile.blogspot.com.au/2010/11/s15-econowave-dsp.html

It is a family of Constant-Directivity loudspeakers based on the AK Econowave Project, using compression drivers, waveguides, and pro-sound woofers.

The design is structured so that future drivers can be added. So far I have the following measured and configured:

Eminence Beta 12a
Selenium D220Ti
B&C DE250
Celestion CDX1-1745

The smooth directivity/polar response is the highlight of this design:

In the past, creating passive crossover for waveguide EQ is a very hard. But with MiniDSP it's a snap! Also the power of DSP allows the speakers to be tuned to critically damped LF, that is 20hz with Q=0.5. :cheer:

Oh this is neat Gainphile.. I've heard of you working on the Econowave but this is our first time seeing the finished product. A great community project requiring all the support it can get and we'll certainly put you on the list of showcase projects!

To all miniDSP end users, we certainly recommend you to have a look at Gainphile blog and support his work (small cost for a readymade configuration).

Keep it up!
