Thank you!

Dimensions are 94H 28W 31D. The drivers are all 8" (200mm) diameter. There's a separate chamber of about 7L for the top driver (which is dual concentric so is midrange + tweeter), the remainder (about 47L) for the bass - two units in parallel.

The cabs are made from OSB (Oriented Strand Board, sometimes known as Sterling board), used a lot in the construction industry, with oak strips for the trim and 25mm dowels for internal bracing. I will post some graphs when I get it all sorted out...

Always loved that Tannoy Dual Concentric driver... A true Gem from the Tannoy UK Driver development team... Wish they would have kept that team together... So many cooler products could have come from this office... :-( Does Tannoy still has an R&D in UK or it's all back to Music Tribe/Behringer?

Impressive on your systems! We wish we could be there to walk around.. Definitely the type of show we like.. i.e. no salesman.. :-)

@devteam yes, the DC drivers are excellent. As far as I can tell there is still some manufacturing in Scotland and R&D in Manchester, but I could be wrong.

Good Afternoon All thank you for your interest and encouragement . Today was for me a very big day after being out of commission for four months my three way active system was finally back in place . Turning it on for the first time in a while was nerve racking and when I slowly inched the volume up the fact it was playing music at low volume was a huge relief. Having then checked out each driver was working I was able to push the volume to normal listening levels and it not only worked but worked really well . So here is picture of it in place not very tidy I know but will post some pictures of it in place at the Wam Show room 103 and let you know if many others liked what I have done .

I can only imagine the relief... We've been making many multiway speakers over the years.. it's always the same feeling when things work in the end and you didn't miswire something and by mistake damaged a driver..

Great Job Ben! We look forward to hearing more!

Hi Everyone,
I'm hoping to get across to the show tomorrow - If I make it, I'm only going to be there for a couple of hours sadly.
What room numbers have you all got, so I can make a beeline for them?

Thanks

Room 119. Streaming from a laptop/HDD to SHD, then on to Quad 909 amp. Speakers are diminutive Q Acoustic 2020i plus REL sub.  See what you think. But some serious sounding kit around.

Hoping you all had a wonderful show! Looking great to see that whole stack of amplifiers/speaker powered by that tiny box.. ;-)

It was an excellent show - there were at least half a dozen systems using miniDSP products in their systems.

The rooms were far from ideal - mine measured about 4m X 3m and because of the layout I had to fire across the narrow part of the room and there were plenty of nasty bass resonances that I would have had great difficulty dealing with if I hadn't had Dirac's help. It ended up sounding pretty good!

That was the first time I visited the WAM show and I enjoyed it more than regular trade shows. There was definitely a different vibe around the place with total strangers happy to talk to each other and no air of hifi snobbery or supremacy like you can sometimes get, just a good dose of common sense around the place - very little snake oil being used as far as I could spot which I liked, and plenty of systems to view, demonstrating that new and old can be successfully mixed and matched!
.
.
I wasn't there for long enough to get around all the rooms but made sure to check out the ones I was most interested in first, including going to see @Tony_J, @EdHowarth and @Bencat in their rooms which was nice. I might even have caught a bug for modifying old speakers and/or building my own one day!
.
.
@DevTeam have pointed it out already but I was surprised how small the flex is. Tony also showed me the new plugin which looks great.
.
.
Anyway I'm sure that won't be my last visit to the show. Thanks guys!

Sorry this is a little late and apologies for not putting my room number 102 up before the show . Hope anyone that cam got round . I am just recovering today to be honest as I arrived on Friday afternoon but could not get anything working until 16.25 on Saturday afternoon due to internet issues at the Hotel . This was very stressful for me and being the big bag of wind that I am everyone in earshot and who would listen got to hear about it. But one of the real joys of the Wam Show is that everyone at the show is just like you and with help from Mickey and Darko of Audionote and John a fellow Wammer I did get music in my room and it sound really good and I just had the best time . There were some teething troubles with it being three years since the last show and it being a new venue but this is to be expected . Great news is there will be a Show next year and it will be in April which is a much better time and not clashing with any other Shows in the UK . This time we will have for the whole weekend the full hotel Saturday and Friday and this will mean we can have more rooms and more people can exhibit . We will also hope that the current Train strike in the UK will have been settled and so there will be easy access as the hotel is right across from Stoke on Trent station . Anyone looking at this and thinking they could attend do not hesitate you will have great time and find lots of really interesting things to listen to and chat about .

Andrew
