I have linked the nanosharc out to two R2R dac's the Soekris DAM 1021, using out0 and out1 and wiring LRCK, BLCK and ground between the Nanosharc and the two Dac's. This has been my dream for some time, because I can then make a DSP solution for x-over and still use this extremely good performing dac. Works flawless with USB input and optical input. The next challenge was to use a Raspberry Pi as network input. I2S in is tricky. I have however made it work with a Hifiberry+ using the I2S output from this ( poorly documented, but available), also here wiring LRCK and BLCK and ground between the Hifiberry and the Nanosharc and output to I2S_0 input at the Nanosharc. I use Roon as provider, and the trick was ( beyond using short wires to avoid noise) to redirect all output to 96kHz. I have not seen any of these described before (and I have searched intensively to get help), so just for inspiration to others :-)

well - after having tested it a bit more, I have to admit that the I2S input from the Hifiberry+ I2S is not stable, there are clics and stutters in the flow. @devteam - can you give some recommendation what it takes to make input work in I2S. I know that you write a bit in the manual, but what would be helpful is examples of devices that the I2S at the nanosharc will accept. What have you tried - of any kind?

I think the I2S source has to run as clock slave.
I am not miniDSP support.

Hi John
You are right, but that is not enough, all parameters need to fit. I was just asking whether anybody have had success in linking up with there I2S in port - of any kind..

Hi Henrylar
Check out Allo recklocker. It worked for me

I am working on almost the same setup in an 8 channel DAC, but with PCM1794A.

I have problems with connecting the Hifiberry Digi Pro+ with the Nanosharc.
The resampling is set on 96khz, use short wires 5cm between the Digi + Pro and the Nanosharc.
I already used an Kali reclocker, but with the same results: noise, but no music.

Can anybody post some more information how the wiring and setup is done?

So you were just using the Allo reclocker (Kali) in between the raspberry and the I2S in and it works? I am asking because the homage says that it only works with slave dac's, and the nanosharc insists on being master.

Hi
Yes. My path is rasperry pi - kali - minisharc (slave) - minidac8 and it works great!

So you are using the minisharc - that makes sense - the nanosharc insists on being master, while the minisharc can work as slave.
