The noise is a power supply buzz. It's coming from the amps themselves so no amount of input attenuation is going to change that at all. I guess no one planned on these being used with high sensitivity loudspeakers. I suppose I could try replacing the power supply capacitors with much larger ones and see if that helps. I don't know what else to do. The noise does not change with changes in the volume control on the plate amp, nor does it matter if the input is digital or analog, or if any input is connected to it at all. It just buzzes on it's own. Otherwise, these are great amps and I'm very happy with them.
