I wonder PWR-ICE125 is good subwoofer amplifer for this speaker ?

Can i set the parameters in PWR-ICE125 without measurement microphone?

I've used the ICE-125 for a subwoofer amp and it works well. If this Usher driver has dual 8-ohm voice coils, your best bet is probably to wire those in parallel and run the amp bridged (BTL mode). BTL will generally deliver the most stable current from the power supply for subwoofer duty.

You don't need a microphone for basic subwoofer setup and you can even do room tuning by ear. Do a web search for "tone generator". Play a tone, and gradually move the frequency up and down, listening for changes in loudness. Your ears are pretty sensitive when it comes to loudness. Move around to different parts of the room to see which frequencies are consistently louder or softer, and that's what you can equalize.

Great answer from Thomas here.. :-)

BTL mode would indeed be the way to go. You could do it manually or just use a UMIK-1 to perform the tuning via REW (www.minidsp.com/applications/acoustic-me...mik-1-setup-with-rew) which can be a bit easier and more accurate. The technique by ear does work, just not as easy I guess. :-)

Thanks for answer m8s
This Usher driver has one 4-ohm coil other one connection is for servo (not conected in this project)
PWR-ICE125 has 1 x 450W 4-ohm or 1 x 450W 8-ohm?

What is better choice for me PWR-ICE 125 or HYPEX 4.0 www.oaudio.de/en/Hypex-Amplifier/Hypex-S...ctive-Filtering.html ?

@ Kolata,

The rating is exactly as per the datasheet. :-) 1 x 450W @ 4Ω
As for comparing to another competitive product, I'm afraid that we can't help. Different technology, different feature set, it's not exactly easy for us. :-)

The Hypex is more expensive (I think) less powerful, and doesn't have the DSP power the PWR-ICE does. OTOH the Hypex has speaker level inputs, which could be useful if you wire your sub that way.

Hi, you would set it to bridge mode in the plugin. Don't change the onboard jumpers..
I am not miniDSP support.

As correctly answered you don't want to play with any jumpers. Just use the software. If you need further support in German, I'd recommend that you give a call to Blueplanet, they are here to help.
