I have used a DDRC 24 for a number of years to power an active two way system using Linn Sara 9 speakers and a pair of Quad 405 speakers. I will be taing this system down and taking it to a HiFi Show - The Wam Show in October in Barnsley . This is a show were members of the Wam forum take their own personal systems to the show and let people hear them .

In preparation for this I decided I need to update to the MiniDSP Device console and migrate the DDRC 24 . I followed the step by step instructions and got the the Console up and working but it would only recognise my device as a 2x4 HD and not the DDRC 24 it was upgraded to by adding the DIRAC licence to . I have raised this with the Technical Section and as normal they will answer but I am just wondering is there anything simple and obvious that i could do to get the console to recognise the DDRC 24 ?

The main issue with this is that as per the instructions I removed the previous DDRC 24 control from my PC and having checked that is no longer in the DDRC 24 User Download section so at present I can now not go back to that plug and use it to activate DIRAC Live which I will need to do when I have to take the system to a new different room at the show . Any advice and help if this has hapened to anyone else would be appreciated .

Right as always MiniDSP Tech team have got back to me and after a little exchange they made it clear that if your 2 x 4 HD is only showing as that then at the bottom of the left hand panel there is an option to convert to DDRC 24 (you need to use the arrow panel to get to the bottom of the list to see it ) . Despite what it says in the manual you do not need to go through step one and two just click on the convert and follow the on screen instructions . Now both the first four times I tried this it did not go through but on the fifth attempt it did complete and showed a message that it had been switched . At this point it is best to do a power cycle on the DDRC 24 and to close the Console . When you turn back on and open the console there is a very slight delay then the DDRC 24 is shown and the conversion has completed and you can control the unit as a DDRC 24 .
