First off, thank you for replying. Since posting this, I was finally set straight. I was initially directed to the 88D, but was corrected to the 88A. I will check back as needed as I progress through my plan.

Well, the 88D is a nice piece of equipment and for 7.1 applications where you have decent outboard DACs and a way of getting digital audio, say from LPCM over HDMI via an HDMI to SDI and tgen disembed the audio, it might be ideal. But for your application, and certainly with Atmos, it strikes me as largely unworkable.
