Dear all,

for now I listen just 2 channel music, so what I plan to set up is the FAST system (Described in the manual of DDRC-24). I would kindly ask for some other helpful tips except what I read in the user manual on setting up such a system.

Thank you in advance.

Hi, you should find it straightforward. Depending on the woofer used you could try a crossover anywhere from 120 to 300 Hz.

Hard to answer such an open ended question :) but maybe do some measurements and then see how you go.

-> Have you drawn and posted a diagram?

-> Have you posted your config file?

Hi John,

My woofer has not yet been inserted into the box, but I'm wondering if I can place it laterally (see image laterally.jpg

or forward (see image forward.jpg)

Unfortunately, my room is such (though spacious) to suit the lateral fit.

Do you know which maximum cutting frequency the woofer can be laterally embedded ?

Regards.

That's an experiment I've been meaning to try for a while but haven't gotten around to. My guess is that 150 would be fine but higher will probably be OK.

I'm not sure on max freq. NHT 3.3's had a side-firing 12" driver that was crossed over at 100hz, 12dB/oct. VT-2's, which I use in the computer room, have a ported 10" driver, also side firing, crossed over at 125hz. Slope is again 12 dB/oct. I'd imagine you could go a little higher, particularly if you used a steeper slope.
