Hey all,

I just got the 88BM plugin installed and I can get the BM calibration tool to connect instantly. However, when I load up the original 88A Calibration tool to load up my configs it never is able to connect. Any ideas?

Eric

I believe that is the way it works - once you upgrade the firmware to the BM version, the "old" utility won't work any more.

Oh wait - you say "BM calibration tool" - you mean the Dirac Live Calibration Tool?

Similar to John's comment, what do you mean by "original 88A Calibration tool to load up"
You mean the DDRC-88A utility little application? if so, it indeed won't connect any more (different HID ID).

- Dirac Live software tool will connect providing you followed the steps of upgrade the DLL (Batch/script file). Please read the pdf file for further details.
- The DDRC-88A utility is only to be used for old units. It's not required anymore since you've upgraded to the DDRC-88BM now.

I don't see in the new DDRC-88-BM a capability for taking measurements with a mic or loading saved measurements.

Where do we conduct new measurements? Sorry I must be getting old. When an interface changes then I'm all thumbs.

Measurements for Dirac Live in the DLCT as before.

Measurements for anything else e.g. speaker crossover, you will need a program like REW or similar.

Another thing I noticed and it might be a typo but when downloading this file notice the difference in the zip and the contents of the zip :C:\Users\etichi\AppData\Local\Temp\Temp2_Dirac Live Calibration Tool for DDRC-88_nanoAVR-DL_v1.1.0.8244 .zip\Windows\Dirac Live Calibration Tool for nanoAVR v1.1.0.6937 Setup.exe.zip

That is just it. This is a new computer so I downloaded the DLCT and it never sees my unit or the mic. But the 88BM utility sees it every time I fire it up.

Just wondering if you read the manual for the DDRC-88BM with the upgrade procedure in it?

Yes. I have. It states that the BM software is to augment the existing Dirac Config tool.

If this is false then stop me right here please.

If the original configuration tool, the one that hooks up to a mic and takes measurements, is still used to take measurements then I am simply stating that after the firmware update my dirac configuration tool will not connect to the device because it doesn't "see" it.

There's a step to upgrade your existing DLCT installation, it sounds like that might have been missed? It's in the supplementary upgrade manual, "DO THIS FIRST" etc. that's in the download.
Below instructions apply to DLCT software on or before 1.1.0 (Build 6937). Make sure that you upgrade
your Dirac Live to the latest version first.
For Windows OS
Double click on the copy.bat inside the \Dirac Live\Windows\ folder
For MAC OSX
Double click on the copy.command inside the \Dirac Live\Mac\ folder

Don't if that might be the issue? If you haven't done that, perhaps that would be the thing to try. If still no success probably best to open a support ticket -> minidsp.desk.com

HTH :)

It seems that I have the same problem :(

Double click on the copy.command inside the \Dirac Live\Mac\ folder

In that folder on my mac I only see,

Dirac Live Calibration Tool for nanoAVR 1.1.0.8244.mpkg
Dirac Live Calibration Tool for nanoAVR 1.1.0.8244.mpkg.zip

What am I missing, where can I find the copy.command?

Sorry for the (maybe) noob question

@ mario

Let's start simple as I'm not sure we're talking of the same thing. :-)
a) DDRC-88A + DDRC-88BM?
b) You installed Dirac Live already from the DDRC-88A software?
c) In your DDRC-88BM zip file, you'll find the batch files for the upgrade. Check out the DDRC_88BM user manual for step by step just in case.

Yes it's a brand new DDRC-88A + DDRC-88BM plugin.
Did the last part with the reset button and got the 88bm software running, only thing now is that the Dirac Live software can't see the 88A :(
Now at work and will strucle further this evening.
