Željko, excellent thread, exactly what I was wanting to do and have one question.
After running Dirac Live and with Dirac Live on, you can still use the 10 bands of PEQ for each channel to fine tune?

Thanks!

Hi Jim,
Thank you, hope it help you. I didn't tried to use PEQ except for room curve (just one bend) . I'll will try even that to do with Dirac !!

Hi,
After all this time of using DSP I have question !!!!!
Does Dirac implement all data (reed in BM Dirac) time and dB in system or it must be implement by hand in BM output screen ??????

"Dirac Live calculates the relative delays between all channels and corrects for any differences. In the source equipment, all delays (or equivalently, speaker distance) should therefore be set to the same value, so that the delays calculated by Dirac Live are effective."

Best Regards

When you run a calibration, Dirac Live will set delays and gains according to what the UMIK-1 reads. So (say) 1V in will yield X dB SPL, on all channels (*).

If, prior to running a calibration, you have made settings in the output channels, those will be adjusted for when you do the calibration. So if you decreased the gain of the center channel for example, the calibration will bring it back up again. (That's what calibration is :) )

However, any change you make after calibration is of course unchanged by the calibration. That also applies to any settings in the source equipment - Dirac Live calibration never "sees" the effect of any of those settings.

Not sure if that helps - ?

* Oh the note - the LFE channel is a special case if you are doing bass management so let's ignore that for now.

That's what I'm thinking (and doing)!!!! Just to be sure !!! So for me and everyone :
Read only data in Dirac section are already (during calibration) implemented in calibration file !!!

Ah, I see what you mean. Yes, that page is just displaying the level and gain that Dirac calculates (and implements) on each channel. (Dirac Live was always doing the calculating and implementing, but now with the BM plugin displays it as well.)

Hi ,
Today I made a re-calibration of my system. I have read on our blog that for stereo system the UNMIK should be at 0 deg (not 90 deg), and it's true. The focus, the stage is much better, so thanks guys who remembered to ask, and Devtim to the answer, should definitely be in the manual !!!!
2 channel (stereo, Ambio)- 0 deg.
Other (more channel)- 90 deg.

@ Željko

Thanks for the follow up, we'll make sure to figure out a way to put this in multiple places (already in the FAQ and UMIK-1 product page but user manual should be added indeed.).

Solution af DevTeam :

- The Apple remote is actually preconfigured (no need to learn it as it will indeed fail).
- To get the Apple remote working you first need to “unlearn” what your unit may have learned.
a) Go to IR learning and connect to the DDRC-88A utility.
b) Click on the “learn” button, and wait (do not flash any IR). You will get an error. But that’s ok.
c) Do the same for all buttons.
