I have my new DDRC-88A plugged in and attached via USB 2.0 cable (under 5 feet long, as required).

In the DDRC program, I am able to connect my Windows 10 computer to the unit successfully; the green checkmark appears.

When I click on "Get Activation Serial Number" it presents a plausible serial number of mixed letters and digits. But the Web page I'm directed to called "Dirac License Activation Process" does not ask for a serial number; it asks for an "Activation Key." The example images on page 17 of the manual show the same page, but they ask for the "Serial Number."

I tried entering the serial number on this page (which, BTW, shows several error messages at the top of the HTML: "Warning: include_once(../customer_portal/includes/tools.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/ubuntu/git/www/services/includes/generateuser.inc on line 2" is the first error). A message on a yellow background says, "This activation key has been activated." (I assume that sentence is in the perfect tense because I just tried to run it again while typing this message, but a word like "already" in the response would make that clearer.)

Anyway, it seems as though whatever I did worked and the license is activated. So I closed that program and opened the Calibration Tool. It asked me for user name and password. I entered the exact same e-mail address and password I had used in the previous paragraph, but I'm told that the password is invalid.

Should I have been given an Activation Code separate from the serial number? Am I doing something wrong?

I have no idea what to do next. Please help.

It sounds as though you will need to open a support ticket with miniDSP to sort it out -> minidsp.desk.com/

I'm just wondering if you bought it from a dealer? The fact that you get the same message if you submit the activation page again suggests that the key had already been used. I don't remember what the message should normally say.

:(

I'll open the support ticket if I don't get a helpful response here over the weekend. I thought that because it's Friday evening, it might take 2 days for the office to get back to me.

I bought the unit directly from MiniDSP, so I'm fairly sure the serial number hasn't been used already.

I don't remember what the message said the first time (but it seemed encouraging). Therefore, I'm not sure whether this message is the same as it was the first time. As I said in my original posting, I find the message I did get the most recent time to be ambiguous in its choice of tense.

Thanks for the suggestions,
John

Yes, they won't be back until Monday.

One thing you could perhaps try is seeing if you can log in here: services.dirac.se/activate_serial/oemservices/sign_in.php

Hey, thanks so much. That was a huge help. I was able to log in at the link you gave me (letting Chrome fill in the remembered password). Then based on the number of characters in that password, I was able to guess on the second try what the correct password is. Now I'm into the program. :) :) :) :) :) Hooray!
