TOPIC:

I am considering replacing a Studio SHD and Topping balanced DACs with my C-DSP 8x12DL because I want to use more than 2 subs. (Note the "my" - starting over yes I would likely pick the Flex Eight.) The input to the C-DSP is Toslink and the preamp has a 12V trigger. The amplifiers have XLR inputs. I have three questions:

1) How does one wire a home 12V trigger to use the remote turn on/standby functionality? I assume one doesn't tie the trigger - lead to the same ground terminal as the SMPS's - lead! 

2) What's best practice for RCA -> XLR on these processors - shield (pin 3) floating or tied to the shield of the RCA? I know for XLR -> RCA best practice is to float pin 3, but here I'm not sure when the preout is unbalanced and the output is balanced. Also I'm not sure if "differential balanced" preout makes a difference?

3) Related to the above, is there a recommendation for the ground jumper for home use, or is it strictly a "see what happens" kind of thing? Mine came from the factory set on"1nF."
