What I’d like is access to other Dirac version like Unison, Dimensions, Panorama.
I’m sure each need to be compiled per platform so it’s probably not that easy nor cheap.

About the HD/DDRC24, sure it works in car but I doubt it was the goal.
It’s a first step though.

@Yuriy

That's actually not bad what Dirac is able to do on what looks like a VERY troubled frequency response.. ;-)
A trick: Don't over extend what your driver can achieve. e.g. see the low frequency how you extended the target past that natural roll off? Don't so this, it's trying to take your drivers into unknown territory.. :-)

How does it sound?

Seems a lot of boost, do you have the gain on Dirac at -10db?
Based on this graph I would manually lower the target by -5db at least and maybe -10, and put back the dirac gain near zero (so you won't have any hole, Dirac can fill up to 10db).
Since it’s 2 way there’s not much you can do with levels, but maybe tweeter could play a little lower before calibration, like -6db.
And seems also a lot to ask from you woofers at 30-60Hz no?

It was a straight feed. Soon I will install original crossovers - then it will be different

If you don't care about feedback don't post measurements saying you're struggling.

I experienced. It does not give me any effect

How much better does the system sound with the new flat line response ? I am curious because I wonder if it could sound good without making it flat. Just gathering info for possible future purchase of this type setup: car + Dirac live, wondering if its worth all the work. Also , does anyone have experience using the FIR filters ? Do you think they are adequate for improving the sound without the Dirac Live ? I will probably use some of the FIR tools first to see how good they work, then move on to Dirac later. I think Dirac uses a combination of FIR(low end) and IIR filters(high end) together with timing and EQ in a proprietary way to do the tuning. Thanks for the input.

Can you advise a little more on how you are powering the DDRC22DI with the USB power supply? what cables are you using? pictures are worth gold. Thanks

It's down right the sickness and is in order
Flat of tilted depends on the power response of your car and how many speakers and locations.

Flat can sound great, sometimes tilted sometimes tilted hard, all depends , :(

Good thing is you can load up 4 versions and listen to them and decide. If don't like , make 3 more keeping your favorite, keep going until you have 1 you really like.

Dirac live in car works great,
The closer you are to a reflection the more dsp can fix it :)

Would using 2 of the DDRC24 units be possible, one for left side and one for right side?

This way the all filter taps could be used for better low frequency resolution?

What about a DDRC-88A for in car use?

Anyone attempted this? For example, a fully active 3-way front stage component speaker set and subwoofer.

Would this be possible for linear phase crossovers plus Dirac room correction?

What about the Bass Management plug in? Would this be useful, too?

Hi, the BM plugin has the crossovers in it. However they are not linear phase (Dirac Live will "linearize" them, although I have no idea what happens in a car environment).
I am not miniDSP support.

Yes but it wouldn’t do it’s “time alignment “ between Left & Right. You would have to add your own time alignment. (I would do it post eq) it would do time alignment between all drivers on the same respective channel.
.

The car has so many more problems than a home system, a little more fir power is nice to have on hand.

The 8ch looks great. I wish it had more taps across channels. But honestly, a non fir car can sound superb with all iir dsp. So , honestly anything is better than none. But for good control over the system more is nice .

If I was on a budget and had a dsp but no fir and had to just get one box I would do the ddrc22xx Dirac machine. More fir power per convolution.
