Dear All

FYI, we've been active at releasing the following updates:
New Volumio build 1.061 is now available online under the Volumio webGUI
- Fixing potential audio swap of L&R for some songs
- Fixing 32bit support for beta roon
- Adding support for Prev/Next/Play/Pause on remote. See new plugin to get support with learning on a remote.

New SHD/DDRC-24/DDRC-22 plugins for better compatibility with OSx + Catalina.

Keep us updated if any questions as usual with our support portal (support.minidsp.com)

Thank you, just updated. Let's hope that the annoying L&R channel switch bug has been corrected.

@devteam - I think it would be helpful if you provided full details of the changes to the SHD software in posts like this. Looking at the release notes it looks like it does far more than your initial post suggested, including the option to now control the screen behaviour which I know a few people here will be very grateful to see.

@dionisp,

Indeed solving the issue. Have a trial. :-)

@UltraSonic
Agreed.. Great suggestion! :-)
FYI, for those interested, please make sure to read the new user manual for the explanation on the new features for the screen/source selection... Hoping that makes everybody happy.

Yesterday I listened to music for about 5-6 hrs and haven't any occurrence of channel switching. Since I haven't understood the circumstances that triggered the issue I will give some more time for final confirmation. However up to know everything works fine. Thanks for responding.

Where is the Prev / Next / Play / Pause on remote learning feature? Does it only work on new remotes?

Also it would be nice to have learning shortcuts for direct input channel selections. If you have a "TV" button on the remote you could bind it to TOSLINK, if your TV is connected to this.

@devteam

SHD's firmware and Volumio's firmware have been updated. However, there is still the problem of switching between the L channel and the R channel.

Yes, i also have updated all firmware, still getting the channels shifting.

I read somewhere that the shd device need a hard reset? Like flashing the internal sd Card with some software files the support provides.

This seems like the last thing that i can do sonit does not switch, i have had 3 shd devices now and all had this problem...

any chance for SHD windows driver update, that would bypass windows volume control? (Other Windows apps keep changing the volume in Windows and it's so annoying to bring it back to 100% each time. I'd like to change volume in my preamp only. I bet many users of this forum would as well)

For context it used to be that the volume was locked but users wanted to be able to use the Volumio volume control so this was changed. I don't know about any other Windows applications changing volume though. It might be useful if you were more specific about what is causing you a problem?

I can investigate which apps are doing this. In my scenario I use a few different apps/services for media consumption in Win10 PC:
* Tidal Windows App
* Youtube in Chrome browser
* Netflix/PrimeVideo in MS Edge browser
* JRiver MediaCenter Windows App
I think the browser apps (Youtube? etc) they tend to set volue to some kind of default values (usually it's 41%). I might be happening also when I switch between Tidal and Chrome, without closing Tidal App. Tidal App is supposed to work in exclusive audio mode, but somehow when in use with SHD it tends to clash with Windows sound mixer: I pause music in Tidal, which should release exclusivity (usually it does), but quite often it keeps ownership over audio system untill I kill Tidal app. After such clash Tidal settings are reset to defaults and Windows volume is 41%.
With the previous USB DAC I had no clashes between Tidal app and Browser, however I had between JRiver and Tidal.

Maybe the answer is to have an option in SHD driver to disable Windows volume slider?

I'm aware that some if the issues may be related to Tidal bugs, however the USB driver of my DAC could handle such situations a bit better.

I want to underline that after some initial struggle I'm a satisfied user of SHD Studio - you've done great job. I'm pretty sure I'll stay with MiniDSP and buy next generations of room correction products

I was hoping for an improvement on the scale of the volume control on Volumio app, but sadly nothing changed.
Still the lousy slider moving 5 step to 5 step, with a completely different scale from the volume control on the hardware.
I would like to know WHY it is like that??? :)
