When using align2 with windows 8, the application's window dimensions are too small too see all the buttons/features. Also, re-sizing of the window is disabled. So the window cannot be made larger to use the buttons/features. Windows Compatibility Mode does not solve the issue. Version is 2.0.0.402.

@ meeu355,

Best would be for you to contact directly the author. Not 100% sure if he's subscribed to this thread.

Hi jlo,
Glad to see you are here! I downloaded the latest version: 2.0.0.411. The size has improved, but the window still looks a bit too small. Here are the screen shots for the 'setup' window and the 'Create graphs' window (2 channel).

Hi jlo,

I would like to provide feedback in regards to the operation of the software (bugs). For instance, after selecting the 'Process DRC' button, I get 4 "file not found" errors. With the 'debug on' feature enabled, the "file not found" errors are happening after "drcplot.m" is written. I opened drcplot.m and there appears to be some hard coded paths to 'D:\documents\audio\align2'.

Is this an appropriate forum to provide feedback? Or do you have a dedicated forum? My experiments with align2 are not specific to openDRC or miniDSP.

Hello,

the paths are not hard coded : they are related to the path of the software install. Generally, this kind of errors comes from a path containing blank spaces or special signs. Can you send me a copy of processDRC.bat and drcplot.m ?

regards

Here are the two requested files. I should note that I don't have a 'D:' drive or an "audio" folder in the 'documents' folder.

You're right, I found a problem with a wrong path written in drcplot.m
There was another problem related to the path of the mic calibration file : you should click on the mic response button and choose a valid file (ie one in the mic directory or your own).
Please download and try new version, then tell me.

I specified a MIC calibration file. In drcplot.m it is still listing the invalid directory. Files attached.

Is it possible to dump the cmd window output to a log file for align2? I can see there is an error output in the command window but I can't get any screen recording software to actually record the command window. And it flashes by too fast to read.

I was able to record the command window using my phone's high-speed camera feature. Cumbersome, but validated that the software is looking for an incorrect microphone calibration file. Previous attached files show the valid microphone file selected, but incorrect path written in the drcplot.m file.

Hi meeu355,
I found a bug related to mic file "not found" in some cases , can you check if latest version solves your problem ? thanks.

Hi jlo,

I tried the latest version. I do get past the microphone error. I also found that I need to fill in the "correction %", "F min" and "F max" values because they didn't contain defaults. However, there are a few more things that i've found in regards to the newest version of Octave ( 4.0.0 as of this writing). Align2 needs to point to octave-cli.exe instead of octave.exe. Also, DRC seems to require a file called tics.m. This file is not included with DRC or Octave 4.0.0. I've attached the file for anyone else looking for it (it's public domain). For Octave 4.0.0, it goes in "C:\Octave\Octave-4.0.0\share\octave\4.0.0\m". Change the extension to .m instead of .txt. Lastly, I'm getting an opengl error when things are trying to plot. For my machine (using DRC's plotting scripts), I have to call 'graphics_toolkit gnuplot' or else it errors out.

Would it be possible for you to add the graphics command ('graphics_toolkit gnuplot') to your drcplot.m file? Otherwise, plotting does not work.

I should also mention that DRC needs the "control" and "signal" packages installed in Octave in order to be able to plot. These are not installed in Octave by default. Not sure if Align2's script needs these as well.
