I'm currently getting to grips with AcourateDRC and trying to understand the various filter combinations available and which will give the best results.

I understand the pros and cons of IIR and FIR filters but am curious as to how the software combines the IIRs with the FIR (e.g. do the 14 IIRs cover only low frequencies and the FIR the upper) and what the advantages are of using a combination instead of a straight FIR.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

More of a question to be asked to the author of AcourateDRC since we have no control on his filter design. The structure is exactly the same as the OpenDRC 2x2.
