I plan to add a miniDSP to my car audio setup and I would like to control it with a smartphone. Which smartphone is capable?

Unfortunately, no smartphone is capable of controlling miniDSP platform. Systems requirements are Mac/Windows OS.

What about the Windows Mobile 7 phones like the HTC HD7? I'm in pro audio (professional bassist) and am interested in the Mini DSP as part of a biamp rig for my bass. It's only useful to me if I can control and change things on a gig. You really should check into options like Windows Mobile (they do have 1 gig processors ) or the plethora of Android tablets. I just saw someone on a gig using an IPad to control PA eq. If pro sound is a priority for you guys you might want to look into viable, PORTABLE ways to control the DSP in live settings.

A portable controller would indeed be great.. The problem always lies into how to control it (i.e. it's a USB device, will need a USB driver for that specific OS), meaning it's not as trivial as it seems ..
The second issue is that while miniDSP plug-ins are a small apps, a whole range of floating point calculations happen behind the scenes to make it happen. Combine this with the request of real time plotting and a lot of small CPU (ARM based) are not always the best fit... Anyway, not saying it won't happen. Just saying that it's just not easy, i.e. would mean a lot of dev on our side, i.e. added cost at the end. Hope this clarifies... DevTeam |

I understand, thanks.Would it really be that much of a stretch using the HTC HD7 ? It is Windows Mobile 7, has a 1 gig processor and a decent CPU. It has a USB connection. I can't imagine that the drivers would be that different since it is a Windows platform. Pardon me for being such a nuisance, but I'd love to try the Mini DSP but it would not be practical for me to bring a laptop to a gig.

My thoughts were on the same lines as Mike's.
