I don't know how or if I can do next thing:

I have spdif input on minidigi (one of 4 inputs),
That is converted to I2S and send to dsp (tas3308),
there I would do my audio dsp stuff,
And output I2S from dsp to minidigi,
So that I could output via spdif the modded signal (modded in TAS3308)

Now here is where i get lost and don't know/what to do.
Can I send (untouched) and receive (modded) IS2 signal on minidigi?
Send untouched signal that I get from one of 4 spdif inputs, and output modded signal to one of 2 output spdif's

I already get signals from dsp, but I don't know if I can connect its I2S signal back to minidigi (only one wire? since all others are already used for sending I2S to dsp)

I have minidigi as master, dsp as slave

Also what would be better, minidigi master, dsp slave or other way around, dsp master?

Regards,
Luka

Luka,

Sorry but I'm a bit confused by the word "untouched".. Why don't you send us a diagram (even handwritten) of what you're trying to do. It'll be a lot easier for us.

miniDIGI is a SPDIF/Toslink to I2S (RX) and I2S to SPDIF/Toslink (Tx) interface. These are 2 complete separately section of that IC. That's all there is to it inside that little board.

Seems like you're DIYing and taking the board a bit out of its typical use so I'd expect that some basic I2S understanding &datasheet reading would help.

I only have data for header J16
And on it, I use:

MCLKIN
I2S_OUT_BCLK
I2S_OUT_LRCLK
I2S_DATA_IN5&6
GND

to send I2S audio to I2s input on dsp. Ok this is all normal. Now I would like to send I2S signal from I2S output on dsp to minidigi and output it on S/Pdif

I don't want to just use jumper on minidigi as in "Loop back mode" as I have it now

So my question is, to what pins on minidigi I need to connect and what signals, which would come from dps, so that I can output s/pdif from I2s, that came from dsp I2s output

here is another picture, hope now you know what I mean

Red line is input signal to dsp
Blue is output signal from dsp

I think this is what I am trying to do too so that the MiniDSP/Minidigi can replace a Behringer DEQ2496. So I am interested in the answer too.

In the manual, it says that the output from the SPDIF on the Minidigi will be unprocessed!

What you want is possible and described in the Minidigi manual.
The limitation is that you can only send 2 channels from the minidsp
to the minidigi digital outputs. If you put a jumper on minidigi connector J1 pin 15 to 16 you send minidsp ch 1 and 2 to SPDIF.
You have to remove jumper on minidigi J1 pin 7 to 9 first.
A jumper must also be put on J1 pin 1 to 2 to send on of the 4 SPDIF inputs to the minidsp. I counted J1 pin 1 as the pin nearest to SPDIF inputs.
