Isn't the minidsp 2x4 supposed to be plug and play?

I am not getting any sound even though everything is physically hooked up right. I know its not my equipments because i get sound without the Minidsp hooked up.

I am trying to read the manual, but it is very complicated for a newbie..a beginner. The wording is for people who have been in audio for a long time or people with some degree in electronics.

I am not even sure what to do to get sound. I THINK my problem is with step 3 in the manual but i cant figure out what it could be.

Another thing is, I dont know what is happening when I click on anything. For example, if I click MUTE, how do you know when its muted or not? does the red line/bar means its muted.

Can I get a step by step procedure that,s basic and to the point?

This is what I have done so far:

RCA coming from my Head Unit to the IMPUT1 INPUT2 on Minidsp 2x4

USB is hooked up to USB port

RCA wires going from Minidsp to my amplifier.

what is my next step?

Thanks

One more thing. How do I power this thing up?

I am under the impression that all you need is a USB outlet. Do I need to use a POWER and GROUND wire also?

Is there a reason why I'm not getting any sound on OUTPUT 4? It doesn't do anything. On the software, it says "infinity," If I try to mute it or do anything, nothing changes.

Seems you are using miniDSP in a car setup. In this case it is strongly recommended to use the miniDC Isolator in order to avoid any ground loop and unwanted noise (e.g. engine whine). Please refer to the miniDC isloator datasheet how to set it up in your system.

No output on channel 4? Are you synchroniced with the unit when looking at the output level meter? just to make sure the hardware is OK, you should reset the unit to factory default (to make sure you don't have a wrong software configuration). You can also post your config file and we'll have a look at it.

Yes. This is car audio.

I did purchased the MiniDC Isolator. I didn't think I needed it, however I am glad I got it. Works great. Very happy.

After messing around with everything all day today, the issue seems to be INPUT 1 or OUTPUT 2. What I find is that OUTPUT 1 is working perfectly fine, but OUTPUT 2 has little to no sound. When I say little to no sound, I mean that you MIGHT hear something is I crank it up really really loud.

INPUT 1 is feeding my tweeters and INPUT2 is feeding my 6.5 inch woofers. I have a 2 way system.

Hope this video work and tell you guys something.
