I read through the various product briefs and numerous FAQs, but left unclear which plugin would be best, it appears more than one might work, which makes me think that I might be confused (I know I'm confused, but wonder if I'm also incorrect!) My system will start with left and right, full range analog output from a preamp. I want to create a low pass filter sending left and right signals to my subwoofers; low passing the signal from 60Hz to 120Hz only to the subwoofer. I do not intend to have the minidsp between my main speakers which are active.
I further intend that the output create active equalization going to two, separate subwoofer cabinets; and I would like to be able to individually equalize each of the subwoofers, as they are not equidistant from the listening position. I understand that with a signal from the preamp output, using the Minidsp Rev B would be best. With regard to the plugins, I'm more confused. 1) The 2way Crossover PEQ 2.1" seems about right, but will it also work for two subwoofers? This will allow me to apply both a low pass filter and equalize up to six bands, correct? 2) 2way crossover PEQ also seems possible. It appears the difference between this plug in and "1)" above, is the latter's ability to sum a stereo signal into a single sub, which I don't need. 3) 2way Advanced. I thought this plugin might be appropriate based on my reading of a thread here, but I'm uncertain that I am tracking what is being said. 4) Is there a better more appropriate plugin for my intentions? In advance, thanks for your attention. |

Hello,
For your setup, the easiest would indeed be the 2.1 way Advanced which will allow you to play with REW/Custom biquad if you ever intend to... The 2.1 advanced is very similar to the 2way advanced. Just the ability to mix outputs (which u can turn off if you don't want). Every crossover on each channel is a combination of a LPF + HPF. So you can indeed build the configuration (60-120Hz) without any problems. Have a look at pics of the user manual/videos for more info. Makes sense? Hoping this info helps DevTeam |

Hi DevTeam:
I purchased a minidsp. I have downloaded the 2way Advanced plugin and installed them on my computer . Finally, I have sync’d the settings in the plugin with the mindsp. However, I'm not getting any sound. With permission, I'd like to post my setting to see if it is obvious what is amiss. My intended minidsp use is to take the full range analog output from my preamp and send only the signal from 20Hz to 80Hz to my subwoofer. Here are the settings I’ve made. I have only outputs 1 and 2 connected to the subwoofer. Any thoughts? |

How are you going to control the volume on the active speakers? Are u going from source then to active speakers?
If you have a premap, cant you put mini before the preamp? |

My preamp will control the volume for both my active speakers, which are not inline with the minidsp, and the subwoofer amplifier.
I'm just not getting sound at this point. |
